Helping You Make Your Site Safer
Granite’s network of employees is our most valuable asset. For that reason, Granite prioritizes keeping them safe as they execute work on multiple projects around the globe. To consistently improve safety among our employees working on your project, Granite abides by your specific site safety policies, local regulations, and our own stringent safety standards. Whether inspecting railroad crossings, updating project schedules or commissioning a wind turbine 200 feet above the ground, completing work safely is our highest priority.

In 2006, we exceeded 11 million man hours worked. Through training, near-miss protocols, site audits and additional safety procedures and metrics, we once again improved our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) performance. Our Incident and Injury rate decreased by 11 percent in the past year.  And our U.S. workers compensation costs reached an all-time low of $1.4 million, despite a 20 percent increase in man hours worked. Our goal is to reach a rate of 0 accidents, which we will achieve by continuously improving our processes.
